SYNOPSIS

6 short films by Sonali Gulati-
4 frames per day (7 mins) was conceived by combining 24 photographs captured each day over a period of 9 months.
Nalini by Day, Nancy by Night (26mins) is a documentary on outsourcing of American jobs to India.
Where is there room? (7mins) A film about loss and longing, grief and relief, a mother and daughter. A film that blurs boundaries between documentary and fiction.
Name I call myself (5 mins) Using a single shot aesthetic, name I call myself documents the filmmaker's search for self-knowledge and identity through the tracing of her name.
barefeet
Barefeet (7 mins) is an experimental narrative film of an Indian woman's attempt at revealing a secret to her family. The film explores the meaning of "home" from a transnational perspective and raises important questions about identity, sexuality, secrecy, and nostalgia.
Sum total (5 mins) What does an Indian lesbian do when her family puts pressure on her to get married? What does her matrimonial advertisement look like? sum total answers these questions through a short poetic film that addresses issues of identity, self-representation, and hetronormativity.
